Sébastien Bonin

Sebastien Bonin is a mid-career contemporary visual artist who was born and brought up in Belgium. Bonin is fascinated by the photographic process and its potential to manipulate colour and form. Whether he is photographing the Californian landscape, car bodies or Navajo rugs, his work consistently moves between representation and abstraction. Bonin uses colour filters, tape, photographic paper and light to push his work beyond its subject. The results of these explorations are surreal depictions of romantic landscapes and intricate studies of patterns.
