Kees van Bohemen (1928-1985)
American football II
1967 | oil paint on canvas | 200 × 150 cm
Kees van Bohemen produced his work in series of paintings. It was hard work: he trained almost like an athlete.
At the end of the 1960s, Bohemen was revered for his sport paintings. He would work on them seven days a week. Discipline was key. After all, he produced about fifteen paintings a year, in addition to many pastels, drawings and prints.
