The iconic Mondrian dress by Yves Saint Laurent is shown in this work. However, we don’t see it in its full glory.
For the Rijksmuseum’s Catwalk exhibition, Erwin Olaf photographed several pieces of clothing from its collection. The title of this series, Concealed Treasures, hints at what these pieces actually are most of the time: concealed. By photographing the dress beautifully covered by a veil of protective plastic, Olaf questions the value of keeping works locked in the depot.
