Grandcamp Maisy
2002 | c-print with perspex on Dibond | 116 × 250 cm
While they could hardly look more peaceful, for years the surroundings of Grandcamp Maisy in France held a horrible secret.
The site of extensive trenches and tunnels built in secret by WWII German forces, the Maisy Battery was not unearthed until 60 years later. This photo forms part of the series Le Couloir de la Mort, Creyghton’s personal interpretation of battlefields of the First and Second World War.
