A flat sculpture may seem a bit unusual, but it gave Guus Hellegers the opportunity to play with dimensions.
This work shows Hellegers’ skill at creating a cohesive image within a restricted format. Even though they are flat and cut off in the middle, the future bride and groom in this sculpture can be clearly seen. Hellegers was also known for engraving and designing medals, coins and similar small works in metal.
