Constant Dullaart (1979) Love On Pink 2023 | ink on paper | 70 × 98 cm Constant Dullaart uses his art to reflect on the cultural and social effects of technologies. In Wave On Yellow and Love On Pink, he explores the boundaries of certain technologies, in this case ASCII. This is a digitally born graphical technique that similarly reappropriates the symbols on a keyboard to create drawings emoticons. The process of text to image is broken down into a more human analogue scale. Dullaart chose hands as his theme because this technique has not yet reached the point where it can perfectly represent hands but things are progressing very quickly. Both works of art were created by using a handheld inkjet printer which is mainly used to print symbols and signs on cardboard boxes . It would have been much more efficient to make these works with a regular printer, but now the flaws of creation by hand have been retained.
