Bram Bogart (1921-2012)
Red/Green
1978 | lithograph | 79 × 59 cm
The combination of bright red and green in this work creates a dynamic effect. It’s quite a change for someone who started out painting landscapes and still lifes.
Like many artists of his generation from before the Second World War, Bram Bogart ended up changing styles. He experimented with Expressionism and Pointillism and, around 1950, started to move even further away from realistic painting.
