Nik Christensen (1973-1973)
Something for the lost and the found
2015 | sumi ink on paper | 305 × 225 cm
When it comes to technique, Nik Christensen wants to keep things simple. Since he likes to work quickly – something that isn’t possible with paint – he uses ink.
Ink on paper gives Christensen’s work an immediate sense of permanence. If he makes a mistake, he has to live with it. By changing the density of the ink as he works, Christensen creates scenes of enormous depth, which draw us in to explore their secrets.
