What might these four sisters have been through in half a century?
It was in 1975 that Nicholas Nixon first photographed his wife and her three sisters together. One year later, he suggested photographing them in the same order. And so a project was born that is still going on. We see the sisterly bond growing stronger, and the grey palette getting darker, photo by photo.
