Seeking to expose stereotypes, The World is Beautiful series by Mario A. tracks the voyage of a Japanese girl named Bijutsuko.
In this photograph we see Bijutsuko sitting in a park. This picture brings together some traditional Japanese elements: the park is a popular meeting place in the blossom season and Bijutsuko poses doll-like in a pure white dress with a bow – clothing associated with girls in Japan.
