Erik van Lieshout addresses many contemporary socio-political issues, such as multiculturalism and immigration. To make his point, he often pokes fun at nobody more deserving of it than himself.
This work was made in response to the riots in The Hague in 2015. Although the issues that Van Lieshout raises often stem from the political and social situation in the Netherlands, they are equally relevant in the rest of Europe and beyond.
