Awoiska van der Molen (1972)
#373-7
2015 | gelatin silver hand-print | 120 × 100 cm
Awoiska van der Molen spends long periods of time in nature to create her photos. Literally and figuratively, they’re a breath of fresh air.
In this day and age of fast digital photography, Van der Molen takes her time. After observing a landscape at length, this gradual and solitary working process continues in the darkroom, where she prints her analogue photos by hand. Van der Molen takes us back to the essence of photography: light and dark, positive and negative.
