In this photograph, Andreas Gursky captures nature in such an abstract way that it could almost be a painting.
This picture of a snowy ridge of conifers was taken along the Ofen Pass, which runs through the Swiss National Park. Gursky has digitally edited the photograph to remove all but the most crucial of details. The black shapes left over on the white background reduce the picture to its essence.
