Bob Bonies (1937)
Colour Composition A
| oil paint on canvas | 160 × 160 cm
Until you compare different paintings by Bob Bonies, it may be hard to imagine just how much difference one colour can make.
In these two paintings, Bonies is interested in expressing motion. While his more static works are made up of blocks of red, yellow and blue only, here adds green to the three primary colours. That immediately makes his provoking arrangement of shapes and forms feel more dynamic.
