In his work, Rafaël Rozendaal constantly explores the relationship between digital and physical reality. He makes works of art in the form of websites, which he then transforms into physical objects (such as prints and tapestries). With Extra Nervous 22 08 03 (Tree), Rafaël has found a new way to adapt his digital art for physical space.

The composition of Extra Nervous 22 08 03 (Tree) was first coded and then lasered out of Plexiglas. That makes it a direct digital line to the physical world. With the coloured Plexiglas, he seeks to make a reference to how colour is experienced in the digital world: smooth, without texture, seen through the glass of a screen.
