When a publication came out about the Australian Aborigines in 1899, it had enormous consequences for this indigenous population. Because their privacy and their sacred rituals were violated, they had decided never to record anything about their culture again. This was until they met Patrick Waterhouse.

Waterhouse took a whole series of photos of these people, but a censored version: Restricted Images. The censoring was done in collaboration with the Warlukurlangu Art Center in Aboriginal communities. The people are no longer recognizable because they have been painted over with their own traditional prints.
