Don Brown (1962-1962)
Yoko II
2000 | polyurethane and acrylic paint | 83 × 20 × 14 cm
Posed as if having her measurements taken, Don Brown's Yoko II invites us to examine her petite body down to the smallest detail.
The body that is merely suggested in Yoko I forms the main subject of Yoko II, its companion piece. Because of its small dimensions – Yoko is reduced to half or even one-third of her actual height – one almost forgets that this sculpture was based on a mould of an actual female body.
