Woody van Amen (1936)
CHOCOLAT TOBLER
2018 | acrylic on linen | 120 × 85 cm
Woody van Amen likes to experiment by combining familiar objects with bold colours, similar to what Pop Art pioneer Andy Warhol would have done.
The Matterhorn has featured in Van Amen’s work ever since he fell in love with the mountain back in the 1970s. But he is not the only one. It is also on the packaging of the famous chocolates referred to by the title of this work.
