There’s always more than one way to interpret the work of this artist. Here you see a bird whose feet are caught between a man’s lips. The bird is trapped as long as the man doesn’t open his mouth to breathe or speak. The woman is held in an embrace, as all sorts of associations are brought to mind with a circular motion. Does the bird stand for freedom? Is the embrace loving, or is it suffocating? Is the woman trying to get the man to speak, or does she want to silence him instead?
