Asta Gröting (1961-1961)
Reinhardtstrasse Stadtbahnunterführung (from the series Berlin Facades)
2016 | silicon, jute and brick dust (red), lacquer spray | 175 × 138 × 8 cm
Asta Gröting wants to create awareness of the story behind our living environment, which preserves our history in layers, good and bad.
This work is part of a series where Gröting explores Berlin facades that still contain traces of the Second World War. Her silicone impressions of the damaged walls expose the city’s history, from the moment the bullets first hit up to the present day.
