In this video art piece, artist Jeroen Jongeleen shows how humankind and nature are inextricably linked. As he runs endlessly in a circle through the Veluwe, a forest area in the Netherlands, his movements wear their way into the landscape. Originally a sand flat, the area has become overgrown with plant life due to the abundant nitrogen in the soil. The forms that you see on this land are the result of human influence on nature – this time as restoration rather than interference.
