These boys playing football show that caricature has always been an important artistic tool for Theo l'Herminez.
His more recent work centres around women where details are either omitted or over-emphasised to depict a certain experience from having lived life. A similar cartoonish approach can be seen here. Portrayed against a flat background, the boys all have muscular adult bodies and seem to be real pros at the game.
